Canada will participate in the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China from May 1 to October 31, 2010. The Canada Pavilion is expected to attract approximately 30,000 visitors each day, for a total of 5.5 million visitors over the six-month period of Expo 2010. Following a competitive process, the Government of Canada mandated the company Pico, Inc. to recruit staff to welcome visitors at the Canada Pavilion.

Pico, Inc., in partnership with Inventa, Inc., will be responsible for the recruitment, training and management of 30-40 employees at the Canada Pavilion. The selected candidates will be considered employees of Pico, Inc. If you are interested in hosting or in other positions at the Pavilion, please visit www.workopolis.com and, using "Quick Job Search", enter Inventa under "Keywords". Applications will be accepted by Inventa until January 17, 2010.

Gamma Catering runs under the authority of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Presence Switzerland, a A La Carte restaurant and a VIP lounge in the Swiss Pavilion at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai. For this challenging project we are looking for members of staff in service.

As a company advocating very high quality standards we expect our members of staff to be self-reliant, flexible, with professional behavior, keen perception and able to work under pressure. Additionally, we expect very good English skills knowledge in Chinese language and culture.

The A La Carte restaurant has a capacity of 155 Seats (87 indoors and 68 outdoors), an open kitchen and is daily open from 9.30 to 22.30. The menu offers traditional but also modern aspects of Swiss cuisine. We serve light dishes and drinks tailored to the Chinese needs.

This is another exciting opportunity for a Pacifican at the Pacific Pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai - an event that promises to be one of the greatest ever with 70 million visitors expected to pass through its' gates next year.

Shanghai is at the centre of China's stunning economic development and with emerging air links and other opportunities, Expo 2010 is in the right place at the right time to boost the profile of the Pacific's tourism, trade, and cultural strengths.

south-pacific.travel is seeking applications from suitable individuals from the Pacific region to fill the role of Entertainment Manager - managing the 15 member country entertainment programme for the Pacific Pavilion and, the Pacific entertainment programme at the Oceania Square at Expo 2010, Shanghai, from May 1st to October 31st.

The appointed person will be expected to have a proven and solid background in the performing arts, either as an entertainer, musician, artist, teacher or manager. Ten years experience in the field would be preferred and a formal qualification would be an advantage. The entertainment manager will be responsible for managing the performances of all cultural groups engaged by the 15 Pacific country participants at the Pacific pavilion during the 6 month period of this international event.

The groups will range in number from 10 persons to 31 per group per country, with some countries hoping to send a different group each month. Performers will consist of singers and dancers, weavers, carvers, flower makers and other artisans.

The entertainment manager will ensure that rosters are in place for the 12 hour and 7 day operation period of Expo, that attendance of performers is punctual and recorded and that all necessary facilities are in place before and after each performance. Priority will be given to the entertainment programme at the Pacific Pavilion, however Expo Park parades and daily shows will also be organised at the Oceania Square venue in concert with the Events Department. Media experience would also be advantageous to the applicant.

Tasks will include the recording and reporting of entertainers performances and attendances, arranging of National Days entertainment for each country in association with the Pacific pavilion director and the celebrating country, assisting with entertainment promotions within the Pacific pavilion in association with the media and trade workshops, organising entertainment for the pacific pavilion's VIP programme, monitoring the welfare of the performers outside of Expo Park, particularly in their halls of residence. The entertainment manager will report to the Pacific pavilion director. Knowledge of the People's Republic of China and Chinese (Mandarin) language would be an advantage.

Gamma Catering runs under the authority of the Federal Bureau of Swiss Presence a A La Carte restaurant and a VIP lounge in the Swiss Pavilion at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai.

For this challenging project we are looking for members of staff in kitchen, service and back office.

As a company advocating very high quality standards we expect our members of staff to be self-reliant, flexible, with professional behavior, keen perception and able to work under pressure. Additionally, we expect very good English skills knowledge in Chinese language and culture.

The A La Carte restaurant has a capacity of 155 Seats (87 indoors and 68 outdoors), an open kitchen and is daily open from 9.30 to 22.30. The menu offers traditional but also modern aspects of Swiss cuisine. We serve light dishes and drinks tailored to the Chinese needs.

The VIP lounge will host events between 40 (sit down dinner) and 100 persons (cocktail or similar).

Join the team at the Swedish Pavilion in Shanghai

The Swedish Pavilion at Expo 2010 will require approximately 60 staff to manage the exhibition, program activities and visitors to the VIP section.

We are looking for young, energetic people who are available to act as guides, technicians and logistics personnel in Shanghai from April to October 2010.

Because 95 percent of visitors are expected to be Chinese, a good ability in Mandarin is essential. Other qualities required include the ability to work under pressure, to be a good team player and having a service-minded attitude.

Those who are selected will work in a truly international environment, learn about different cultures and have the opportunity to be part of the World Expo experience. There will be a comprehensive training program.

Shanghai will be the centre of world attention during this period with an expected 70 million visitors from over 200 countries. Apply below to join our team in Shanghai.

World Expo 2010 Theatrical Performance, on behalf of its theme show Window of Cities, offers an
internship program to talented performers in US in following roles:

Vocal Music
Acting & Theater Art
Dancing
Gymnastics
Circus

Application Deadline: October 5th, 2009

Duration
It is an one-year internship program consists of

- 4-week Chinese language training, starting from Nov. 2009
- 5-month training and rehersal, starting from Dec. 2009
- 6-month performance at World Expo Shanghai 2010, from May 1, 2009 to Oct. 31, 2009.

As a performing intern, you will be part of

- About 650 performing shows to over 70 million international audiences.
- Work with world-class artistic troupes, such as Spanish Labra Theatrical Troupe
and Taiwan Image Performance Troupe
- Opportunity to be employed by these artistic troupes as their regular members.
- 4-week Chinese training class and completion certificate from world-famous
Peking University, Beijing, China
- Extended live in two world-class cities: Beijing and Shanghai, China
- Tours to explore ancient Chinese Culture and Modern Chinese cities

With less than two weeks to go until the recruitment period for the Australian pavilion at Shanghai World Expo closes, Commissioner-General Peter Tesch is urging Australians to submit their applications to become part of a dynamic team of over 180 staff by the 18th of September.

Mr Tesch said, "From waiters, chefs and venue managers, to sales assistants and VIP receptionists; from finance managers and event coordinators through to pavilion guides, we are looking for enthusiastic Australians who are passionate about what they do, have a sense of humour and who are committed to making this event a success for Australia, Shanghai and the world".
